We strongly encourage you to add images to Quamut Wikis you write or edit. Images help illustrate concepts and generally make how-to guides clearer and more appealing to readers. That said, the images you add must comply with the guidelines below and with our specific image file guidelines in order to avoid deletion. Quamut Wiki images must:

• Be helpful: Only include images that complement or enhance the instructions in your article. Do not include images designed solely to provide decoration. For instance, if you’re writing an article on How to Cut a Watermelon, providing an image for each step in the process would greatly enhance your guide. Providing only a single image of a watermelon would not.
• Must be original or not owned by a third party: All of the content that you contribute to Quamut Wiki, including images, must be created exclusively by you or be a work that has entered the public domain. See the Quamut Wiki copyright policy for more specific information on how to tell if an image is acceptable for submission.
• Look professional: Photos, drawings, or sketches that you provide must be focused, clear, and as professional looking as possible. You definitely don’t need to be a professional photographer or artist to add images to a Quamut Wiki, but please make sure your images are clear and comprehensible.
• Not depict dangerous, violent, illegal, or hate-based acts or scenes: Images that show dangerous, violent, illegal, or hate-based acts or scenes will be deleted.
• Not be used to advertise or promote: Images designed solely to advertise or promote a specific product, service, website, blog, band, individual and so on will be deleted. Note that images of specific products, services, and so on that are helpful or that illustrate a point or suggestion within an article are acceptable so long as they comply with the Quamut Wiki copyright policy and brand name policy.
• Not contain humor or sarcasm: Cartoons and other images intended solely to provide humor or sarcasm are not acceptable.
• Not contain explicit sexually oriented subject matter: All sexually explicit images will be deleted. Helpful images within articles on practical matters related to sexuality, such as an image of a pregnancy test kit in an article on How to Tell If You’re Pregnant, are acceptable.
• Not depict images of celebrities or recognizable individuals: Images that depict celebrities or any recognizable individual are not acceptable. It is acceptable to submit images that show someone in the context of a demonstration, provided the individual depicted is not recognizable.
• Not contain trademarks of third parties: Images that include logos, slogans or any other design associated with a certain company or brand are not acceptable and should not be used, unless such images are helpful or illustrate a point or suggestion within an article. Such images are acceptable so long as they comply with the Quamut Wiki copyright policy and brand name policy.
