Whether you’re writing a new Q-Wiki or editing a Q-Wiki that already exists, it’s helpful to know how to enter and format text. The Q-Wiki Content Editor makes this easy.

How to Use the Q-Wiki Content Editor to Enter and Format Text

The Q-Wiki Content Editor makes it easy to enter and format text. The text editor works just like a mini word processor—you type in your text and then format it by clicking on the relevant buttons. The icons depicting the different text formatting tools are likely familiar to anyone who regularly works with word processing programs. These tools are described and explained below:

format pulldown
Format

A pulldown menu that allows you to format your text in a number of ways:

  • Paragraph: This is the default formatting (text will have this formatting even if you don’t choose paragraph from the pulldown menu)
  • Address: Used for addresses or openings, though seldom necessary for Quamut Wikis
  • Preformatted: Used to format computer code. If, for instance, a Quamut Wiki on programming includes some code, that text should have the preformatting format.
  • Heading 1–6: Gives you access to six levels of headings, with 1 as the biggest. These Heading formats are the primary reason Quamut Wiki writers and editors may want to use the format pull down menu.
