Dining out can be fun for many reasons, but our dining experience can't always be good. So somtimes we have to complain to get our money's worth of dining experience. If you know how to complain, you can get your money's worth of dining experience without making a scene.
- $ or $$$$ - First, determine whether it is a cheap food restaurant or an expensive food restaurant. Expensive restaurants include the price of good service when they price their dish, where cheap restaurants don't necessarily include that. So don't over-complain in small restaurants where staff are overworked and underpaid. But be confident to complain in expensive upscale restaurants where good service is expected.
- MANAGER - If there is a mistake made with your order, or if you found inedible objects in your dish, don't complain to your waiters or waitresses. Ask for a manager directly. Waiters and waitresses are the ones who mediate between the restaurant and the customers. They do not have an authorization to correct any mistakes made.
- ACT ACCORDINGLY - If the restaurant management isn't apologetic for the mistake made, you can stand up for what you deserve. If that doesn't work, you can choose to tell your horrible experience to the neighbors via word of mouth, or you can post it on-line where people often use to learn about different restaurants (such as citysearch, zagat, etc.).
