Wear Scents Properly

Learn to have a lingering scent without being too perfumy

Our olfactory system is the oldest of all sensory systems. So we often connect between certain smells and the person, place, or events, etc. We underestimate the sensitivity of our olfactory system, and often throw on too many different smells on ourselves. Learning about how scents work can help you smell subtle but attractive.

  • CHEMISTRY - There is a chemistry between a scent (perfume, cologne, etc) and your skin. When someone compliments on your perfume, it means not only your perfume smells good, but it has a great chemistry with you. It's the combination of you and the scent that makes a great lingering smell. So experiment, and find the ones that work with you.
  • ON WRIST - Wrist has a pulse point, so it can be effective to dab on scents on inner part of the wrists. When you dab perfume on your wrist, don't rub your wrists together. Spray or dab on perfume on your wrist, and let it air dry. If you rub your wrists together, you are destroying its top, middle and the bottom note.
  • ON BODY - Instead of spraying it directly to your clothes or skin, try spraying your perfume in the air, and immediately walking into the mist of perfume. It evenly distributes the scent, and it really opens up the smell.

Smelling like you showered with your perfume or cologne isn't attractive. Be subtle but effective, and create your own scent that everyone will remember you by!
